Hello delegates!
My name is Anitra Coelho and I am honoured to be serving as your Deputy President for the Disarmament Commission. I am currently a Year 11 student attending Dulwich College Beijing, and this iteration of BEIMUN marks my 17th conference and 10th as a chair. From the moment my MUN journey began, it has been an incredibly memorable experience filled with increasing amounts of debate, dialogue and diplomacy.
Model UN holds a special place in my heart for a variety of reasons, but especially because it unifies countries and delegates under one common goal- to foster a better future for every citizen of the world, which is what I hope each and every one of you will keep in mind throughout our committee sessions. I would like to encourage all of you, regardless of your experience in MUN to leverage this experience to the best of your ability, and to truly use DIS as a forum to engage in valuable discourse that can help make a tangible impact in the world.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have, and looking forward to seeing all of you this January!

Hello delegates!
My name is Frank Su, a freshman from the International School of Beijing, and I am honored to be serving as the your President for the Disarmament Commission at this year’s BEIMUN. With ten conferences behind me, three times as a chair, yet every committee and conference still feels like labyrinth of ideas to navigate.
Although MUN puts a huge emphasis on diplomacy and formality, painting a world of formal speeches and strict procedures, beneath the surface is pure chaos; ideas oppose each other, alliances are formed or destroyed, and the room is full of that energy. Whether you are a seasoned delegate or a newcomer beginning your MUN journey, I hope that in my role as a chair, I can keep this energy alive and guide the discussion so the ideas of all of you can be debated on and improved. Moreover, I hope that I can make this experience as meaningful and enjoyable as it has been for me. Ultimately, I wish you all the best with your research and preparation, and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Sincerely,
Frank
