Model United Nations, or MUN, is an educational simulation where students step into the roles of diplomats representing different countries. The primary goal is to debate pressing global issues, build consensus, and collaboratively draft resolutions that mirror the procedures of the actual United Nations. Through this process, participants develop critical skills in public speaking, negotiation, research, and compromise, all while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and world affairs.
What is MUN?

BEIMUN is a premier, student-run Model UN conference hosted annually by the International School of Beijing. With a legacy dating back to its founding in 1993, it is recognized as the third-oldest MUN conference in Asia, and the oldest in China. This esteemed history underscores its role as a cornerstone of the regional MUN community, providing a platform for delegates to hone their diplomatic skills in a professionally run, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
