Delegates, chairs, and most esteemed guests,
Hello, my name is Leah Giselle Kim (she/her), a junior who is currently attending Seoul International School. I am truly honored to serve as the President chair of GA1 for BEIMUN XXXIII. As a dedicated member of my school's MUN club, I have attended various conferences as a delegate, chair, as well as a part of the Secretariat. My passion for MUN has started since Middle School, and BEIMUN XXXIII will mark my 19th conference in the scheme of my MUN career. Thus, BEIMUN XXXIII holds an important role in my heart as the first conference I will attend in 2026.
Our committee, GA1, will introduce thought compelling and pressing topics for delegates to discuss, exploring global issues in depth while taking both historical and modern circumstances into consideration. At the end of BEIMUN XXXIII, I truly hope that all delegates obtain and learn valuable information about international issues. Our first topic is "Addressing the ownership and usage of Antarctic resources." While the question of distributing Antarctic resources may be unfamiliar for many delegates, this is a commonly overlooked problem that requires delegates to show an understanding in global affairs and negotiation. Our committee's second topic is "Creating frameworks to ensure the non-militarization of space," for which I will be mainly responsible for addressing any inquiries. Especially in the era of rapidly developing technology, it is crucial to answer questions of space exploration and possible concerns that are associated with such technologies to ensure the prevention of power imbalances between nations.
I am extremely excited to meet everyone in January, and I am looking forward to watching substantial debates unfold throughout the duration of the conference. If there are any questions, concerns, or messages that you would like to deliver, please feel free to send an email at any point of time. Thank you for signing up to attend this conference!
Sincerely,
Leah

Hello delegates,
My name is Christine Kim, and I am a senior at the International School of Beijing. I am honored to serve as the Deputy President of the General Assembly 1 at BEIMUN XXXIII.
In our committee, I will be focusing on the topic of "Addressing the ownership and usage of Antarctic resources”. With the belief that vast resources lie beneath Antarctica’s surface, territorial tensions among nations have continued to rise. As a result, there is an urgent need for effective solutions that can safeguard the environment while maintaining international peace.
As a chair from the host school, I hope to create a space where all delegates feel comfortable and respected to express their views I strongly encourage all delegates to engage actively and contribute thoughtful insights to enrich our debate.
I look forward to meeting you all in January!
Thanks,
Christine

Greetings delegates of General Assembly 1, I am Zixuan (Sean) Chai, a junior attending Beijing World Youth Academy. I am incredibly honored to serve as your deputy president.
BEIMUN 2026 would be my 9th conference and 4th chair, as well as the start of my third year in Model UN, with BEIMUN 2024 being my first ever conference. Public speaking, problem-solving, and diplomacy are becoming increasingly-vital skills for the younger generation, and I hope all delegates could utilize this experience to learn and sharpen their skills here.
The topic I will be focusing on would be "Addressing the ownership and usage of resources in Antarctica". Please do not hesitate to contact me if you encounter any challenges when preparing for this topic (you can email me at 1508001020@wya.top).
I look forward to an enriching and fruitful debate. See you all soon!
